BERLIN – Two major trade events targeting Ghana-Germany agricultural business development were announced, offering opportunities for investors and exporters to forge direct partnerships.
German African Business Summit – November 23-25, 2025 in Ghana
The German Trade Association representative announced: “On November 23rd to 25th, the German African Business Summit will be hosted in Ghana. There will be a lot of sector focus. German ministers will be there, and German businesses that are maybe not active in Ghana yet.”
The summit represents a strategic opportunity for Ghanaian exporters to meet potential German investors and partners on home soil. “I think this will be a great opportunity to work towards, also to see where the connections are and which companies are interested in investing and working with the companies you represent,” the representative noted.
The event will feature significant government participation from both countries, with German cabinet ministers scheduled to attend alongside Ghanaian counterparts. This high-level engagement signals serious commitment to expanding bilateral trade.
The Ghana venue allows German businesses to see production facilities, farms, and processing operations firsthand – addressing GEPA’s stated goal of having “producers from here to our country for them to understand where the product is coming from.”
Ghana Horticulture Expo – June 11-13, 2026
FAGE President Davies Korboe announced Ghana’s signature agricultural trade event: “On our side in Ghana, we have what we call the Horticulture Expo. The Horticulture Expo this year is from June 11th to 13th.”
The expo, now in its third year, is growing significantly. “We started two or three years ago and did very well. Last year we had interest from Messe Berlin trying to come on board, and this year they are coming on board fully to bring other participants to come and see what we do, make sure they get some clients and also invest in partnerships.”
Messe Berlin’s full participation marks a major validation of the expo’s importance. As the operator of some of Europe’s largest trade fairs, including Fruit Logistica, their involvement brings international credibility and attendee networks.
Korboe described the expo as “a mini Fruit Logistica” – positioning it as West Africa’s answer to Europe’s premier fresh produce trade fair. The event is “being powered by Ghana Export Promotion Authority,” ensuring official government backing.
FAGE will send official invitation letters to potential participants, with the expo serving as a platform for:
– Direct buyer-seller connections
– Showcasing Ghana’s agricultural products and processing capabilities
– Facilitating investment discussions
– Demonstrating quality standards and certifications
Strategic Timing and Complementarity
The two events are strategically timed: the November 2025 summit focuses on broad business development and investment, while the June 2026 expo specifically targets the horticulture and fresh produce sector during Ghana’s harvest season.
Together, they provide multiple touchpoints for German businesses to engage with Ghanaian partners. Companies attending Fruit Logistica in Berlin in February can follow up at the Ghana summit in November, then deepen relationships at the
Horticulture Expo the following June.
FAGE’s and Multimedia Group has a partnership to ensure publicity and coverage of the Ghana Horti Expo 2025 and FAGE’s activities.
The German Trade Association representative committed to promoting both events: “We’ll make sure to spread the news to our members. A lot of the companies you will see at Fruit Logistica are members of this association.”
Both events align with Ghana’s 24-hour economy initiative and the broader push for value-addition in agriculture. They offer platforms for announcing new investments, partnerships, and export agreements in line with Ghana’s goal of processing agricultural products domestically before export.
